Artist. Yogi. My Story.
Finding Harmony in Motion and Art
For me, art and yoga aren't separate pursuits; they're intertwined paths to understanding, expression, and well-being.
My journey began a young student athlete with a love for visual arts. I initially began practicing yoga as a dynamic training tool for competitive swimming and cross country. I studied constructive anatomy and scientific illustration at SCAD. These explorations created a deep appreciation for the intelligent design of the human (and animal) form and the ways to best care for our bodies and minds. I pursued my first 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher training in 2012 in Savannah, GA and simultaneously graduated with a degree in Illustration.
The precision of scientific illustration initially fueled a battle with perfectionism. But through yoga, I found my way back to the joy of creation. Applying the yogic principles of non-attachment helped me release expectations for the final artistic result, allowing me to unlearn rigid art school programming and rediscover my authentic artistic voice. My daily practice embraces imperfection and encourages wild curiosity, which has profoundly transformed my approach to both teaching and creating.
Yoga has been a constant anchor and source of transformation throughout my life, and I'm passionate about sharing its philosophy and physical practices. My family's journey has taken us from Chambersburg, PA, to Roanoke, VA, Evansville, IN, down to Birmingham, AL. Each yoga community in these cities has left a memorable mark and profoundly influenced my teaching style. These days, I'm thrilled to be teaching in and around Savannah, Georgia, where my journey first began.
I’ve worked with physical therapists at StretchLab and completed the Jason Crandell Yoga Method 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher program in 2023. I am passionate about growing my understanding of sports medicine as it applies to the yoga practice and preventing repetitive stress injuries. I enjoy instructing strong and powerful Vinyasa Flow classes, Beginner's Yoga and Yin workshops.
Most of my time is busy with my two boys - now 8 and 1. Welcoming the newest baby yogi to the family in 2024, I look forward to creating inclusive classes where my son can be an integral part of the experience. I’m excited to offer space for new moms to meet and nuture a community of tiny yogis. I’ve taught kids yoga in kindergarten classrooms, children’s day camps and private homes. Working with teens holds a special place in my heart, as I know firsthand how impactful yoga can be at that age, and I love incorporating children's literature and crafting into the yoga experience.
